Who
are Attic Futura ?
Attic
Futura is the European arm of PMP Communications which is
Australia's largest print and publishing company.
They
have passion, energy and innovation and it is this, combined
with the creative talent of some of the brightest young stars
in the industry, which has enabled Attic Futura to take on
the might of the UK publishing giants - and win.
Attic
Futura always strive for perfection and are constantly evolving
their magazines to respond to the ever-changing lifestyles,
attitudes, behaviour and priorities of their readers. They
make sure their readers come first, which is why their magazines
lead and never follow.
The history of Attic Futura
Their
company shook up the UK market in 1989 with its first title,
TV Hits - a monthly magazine which rapidly established itself
as a major contender in the teenage magazine market. Since
then Attic Futura have continued to expand their portfolio
and introduce ground-breaking, market defining titles.
The
Attic Futura UK portfolio now proudly consists of: Sugar,
B, TV Hits, Inside Soap, All About Soap and cd:uk. They currently
sell over two million magazines a month in the highly competitive
consumer markets of the UK and Germany.
Their aims
Attic
Futura's prime objective is to lead in all sectors that they
publish by being the best, not necessarily the biggest. They
consistently recruit and nurture young, dynamic managers who
have the vision and ability to launch titles that are trendsetters,
not followers.
Below
are just a few examples of how Attic Futura's fresh approach
to publishing has often broken the mould and shaken up staid
magazine markets:
- The
launch of Sugar in October 1994 revolutionised the teenage
market by offering readers their own version of the women's
glossy.
- When
B launched in June 1997, it took the young women's magazine
market into the new millennium by giving women in their
early twenties a feel-good, glossy magazine which rejected
cynicism in favour of celebrating life's happiest and
most carefree years.
Reader relationships
Attic
Futura's magazines understand and respect their readers. They
are constantly striving to give them 100 per cent. Subsequently,
the quality of the entire package stimulates interest and
creates a loyal and regular readership.
Attic
Futura magazines talk to their readers in a language they
understand, giving them not only what they want from their
magazine, but also what they hadn't yet realised they wanted.
Their favourite magazine - be it Sugar, B, Inside Soap, TV
Hits, All About Soap or cd:uk - is an essential part of their
lives, to be looked forward to, cherished and enjoyed from
cover to cover.
Their
readers look to their title for fun, entertainment, advice,
guidance and informed editorial on every trend, change and
issue that affects their lives.
Advertiser relationships
Attic
Futura places huge emphasis on their relationships with advertisers.
They have earned a reputation for creativity and energy which
manifests itself in a number of ways:
- Creative
advertising campaigns -Attic Futura pride themselves
on creating bespoke programmes of activity tailored to
a client's specific objectives. Examples have included
many media firsts as well as sponsorship promotions and
above the line activity.
- Relationships
-
They work hard to build great relationships with their
advertisers by continually creating new and innovative
opportunities generated through Attic Ideas. The synergy
between their editorial, marketing and advertising department
is unique in the publishing industry and ensures that
clients benefit from their expertise in all markets they
operate in.
- Extending
the message
- All of Attic Futura titles look to extend the relationship
they have with their readers beyond the pages of the magazine.
Events such as The TV Hits Awards or Sugar Model Competition
create sponsorship opportunities for advertisers to come
face to face with their readers and extend their communication
with them through sampling and giveaways.
The future
As
an international publisher, Attic Futura is passionate about
developing new markets and increasing opportunities for their
advertisers and retailers.
Attic
Futura plan to further develop their magazine brands internationally
and the launches planned will extend further their portfolio
of high quality, innovative and ground-breaking magazines.
Attic
Futura is totally focused on the ongoing development of their
UK and international business and, with an aggressive publishing
strategy in place, they are perfectly positioned to continue
their phenomenal growth and success.
